Groundbreaking Documentary "Black Greek: The Foundation" to Debut on Netflix on December 2nd
"Black Greek: The Foundation," an intriguing documentary that delves into the world of Black fraternities and sororities, to be released on Netflix.

METUCHEN, NJ, November 15, 2008 /New Jersey News Articles/ -- Block Party Entertainment, Inc. and Passion River Films will be distributing "Black Greek: The Foundation," a fascinating film that explores the world of Black Greek organizations and traces their roots back to Kings and Queens in Egypt, on Netflix on December 2, 2008.

"Black Greek: The Foundation" takes viewers on a journey through the history of Black fraternities and sororities and focus on the impact that these organizations have had on shaping the history and future of many Black Americans. Gavin Phillip Godfrey of Rolling Out Magazine raves, "A very intriguing and informative documentary. A must see for all Black Greeks and Mason's."

This revolutionary documentary features interviews with prominent figures in the Black community such as Shaquille O'Neal and Sheryl Underwood, all who are a part of Black Greek organizations themselves. Filmmaker James Davis even concludes his documentary with a very moving conversation with famed attorney Johnnie Cochran. In the final segment Mr. Cochran shares some of his found memories of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., which is the only time that Johnnie Cochran has ever discussed his affiliation with his fraternity on film.

Filmmaker James Davis seized the opportunity to produce a documentary of this magnitude, where the symbolism of Black Greek Organizations is known by only a few. His goal is to shed a unique light to a monumental history never told, in more ways than one and to have audiences gain a deeper appreciation for the foundation of these organizations as he presents historical perspectives, facts and insights with a modern day focus.

BLACK GREEK: THE FOUNDATION. Documentary. 75 minutes. NTSC. Not Rated. Directed by James Davis.
