GenScript launches a series of cosmetic peptides
GenScript cosmetic peptides contribute to the cosmetic industry.
PISCATAWAY, NJ, October 12, 2008 /New Jersey News Articles/ -- International research outsourcing company GenScript Corporation has launched a series of cosmetic peptides. These include anti-aging gradients widely implemented in the cosmeceutical and dermaceutical world.
¡°We synthesize these miraculous molecules using our advanced peptide synthesis techniques and instrumentation,¡± says GenScript¡¯s scientist Dr. Sean Li. ¡°This could become one of the best resources for companies specializing in anti-aging cosmetic products.¡± Li¡¯s claim is possible due to GenScript¡¯s FlexPeptideTM peptide synthesis platform, which integrates various technologies including liquid-phase peptide synthesis (LPPS), solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), microwave technology, and GenScipt¡¯s proprietary ligation technology. Using automated synthesizers and implementing Fmoc and Boc methodologies, LPPS and SPPS target the synthesis of short and long peptides, respectively. Microwave technology increases both reaction efficiency and product yield by preventing unwanted aggregation and shortens the time needed for each cycle of coupling and deprotection. It minimizes the quantity of chemicals needed and thus synthesis cost. Microwave technology can also ease the introduction of site-specific peptide modifications. In addition, GenScript¡¯s proprietary ligation technology is able to join peptide up to 200 amino acids.
The main feature of GenScript's cosmetic peptides series is its customizability. GenScript offers peptide modifications that increase the skin-permeating and anti-wrinkle properties of these molecules. GenScript can also synthesize both GMP and research-grade cosmetic peptides with a high level of batch-to-batch consistency. The purity level is set by the customer and purification is achieved via HPLC using reverse-phase C4 and C18 columns and alternatively by ion exchange, SEC, and gel chromatography. GenScript quality control includes amino acid analysis (AAA), HPLC, MS and solubility testing. The synthesis process is also heavily documented. The documentations include equipment validation, batch traceability and certificates of analysis of all raw materials, as well as batch records for each step of the manufacturing process.
GenScript's comprehensive series of cosmetic peptide includes acetyl hexapeptide-3, palmitoyl hexapeptide, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-3, palmitoyl pentapeptide, GHK-Cu2+, and PAL-GHK. Some of the companies using these include DDF, Replexion, Bioque, Urban Nutration, Mirakkle, Avon, Peter Thomas Roth, Osmotics, Newspirit, and Neova.
