Mobster Documentary "Shooting Henry Hill" to Debut on Blockbuster Online and Netflix September 23rd
Shooting Henry Hill is a one-of-a-kind glimpse into the world of mafia turncoat, Henry Hill, the subject of Warner Brother's classic film, "Goodfellas" to premiere on Blockbuster Online and Netlflix.
/New Jersey News Articles/ - METUCHEN, NJ, September 07, 2008 - Prairie Entertainment and Passion River Films will be distributing "Shooting Henry Hill," a documentary that follows "Goodfellas" mobster Henry Hill, 25 years after entering the witness protection program, in the small town of North Platte, Nebraska. The documentary will be available on Blockbuster Online and Netflix on September 23, 2008.
"Shooting Henry Hill" is unique in that it goes beyond the average mob tale. Director Luke Heppner and filmmakers Ron and Heather Silver follow 62 year-old Hill as he goes on with his life, now cooking in an Italian restaurant, similar to his "Goodfellas" persona. However, in a dramatic turn of events, Ron Silver explains, "we were not surprised to find ourselves in the middle of an organized crime investigation". In between the raids, arrests and indictments, Hill has very little time to settle down, and the filmmakers are there to witness these events every step of the way.
The documentary premiered on September 16, 2007 at the New York International Independent Film &Video Festival and won Best Social Documentary as well as the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary Short. "Shooting Henry Hill" was also an Official Selection of the New Filmmakers Anthology Film Archives of New York.
